The Aerobie Aeropress

Has obtained a cult following among many Coffee addicts, who have elevated this little handheld Espresso Coffee maker to rock-star status. You'll find Coffee aficionados often discussing, in online Coffee forums, how they achieved the perfect brew with this innovative little gadget (there's even an unofficial timer app!! o.O), and some rigorous debate about whether the Aeropress is really any better than a plunger, or even a cup of barista-made coffee!

One of the main strengths of the Aerobie Aeropress is its compact size. It’s small and lightweight enough that as a coffee lover you can easily fit it into your regular backpack and take it to work, or on a trip for that perfectly created cup of Coffee.

Due to the brewing process achieved with the Aerobie Aeropress the acidity levels of the coffee are much less than conventional methods, due to the shorter brew time. In fact, laboratory testing measured Aerobie Aeropress coffee as having under one-fifth of the acid generated by regular drip coffee makers! As a result, science has proven that the Aerobie Aeropress brews Coffee that is friendlier to our stomachs!

Ultimately, we love the Aerobie Aeropress espresso maker, it's a perfect travel companion for those of us that are on the go. It’s also a great alternative for those who don't have access to an espresso machine but love an awesome cup of coffee. This little beauty brews coffee with low acidity and ultimately brings out the best flavour of any Roasted Brew!

  • Place a micro paper filter in the cap
  • Twist it on the chamber and stand it over a mug
  • Put two (or up to four) scoops of coffee into it
  • Fill it with hot water up to the corresponding number of scoops (The instructions recommend 80°C for dark roasts, 85°C for light)
  • Mix the coffee and water for ten seconds
  • Press the plunger down using a gentle, steady motion for 20 to 30 seconds.

Cleaning the device only involves a quick rinse.

Aeropress Build Quality

The Aeropress is made from PBA-free plastic material. Over the years the material has been slightly altered with each new iteration. The latest model is a made form a greyish semi-transparent material, which not only looks great but also has proven to be very resistant to wear and tear.

The plunger part itself has a rubber seal, which is removable. That means you can easily clean all parts.

The older models were a bit more prone to scratches, but the new and slightly improved design and material has put an end to that

Aeropress Design

The man behind the Aeropress design is no other than Alan Adler. Before inventing the brewer his main claim to fame was the Aerobie Frisbee.

The little coffee maker is capable of brewing in two different ways: Inverted and normal.  First, you rinse a paper filter, insert in the plastic disk. Then you prepare the device and add ground coffee, followed by an exact measured dose of water. After that, you plunge, and voila - you have a perfect coffee! Of course, there’s a lot more to making the perfect Aeropress Coffee, but you get the basic idea.

The design of the Aerobie Aeropress is not only revolutionary and innovative but basically cleans itself while it’s brewing.
